"The patrol system is not one method in which Scouting for boys can be carried on. It is the only method.'"

—Lord Baden-Powell, Scouting's founder

Rank Advancement is one of the responsibilities of a Patrol Leader. Training new scouts in skills is a way for a Patrol Leader to demonstrate leadership and show their readiness for their own next rank advancement. A Patrol Leader should be able to guide a new Scout to Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks.

This training website will give a Patrol Leader an outline to help newer Scouts advance through the ranks.
